Arsenal will appeal the red card shown to Kierian Gibbs on saturday as
it was an issue of mistaken identity. The red card was meant for Alex
Oxlade-chamberlain but referee Andre marinner made a mistake by
sending off Gibbs instead. The appeal is expected to be a formality
but the red card will be transferred to Oxlade-chamberlain who will
then serve a one match suspension. The club will also appeal because
the foul didn't prevent an obvious goal scoring opportunity as the
ball was going wide off post.
Arsenal received Draxler boost as bayern munich chairman has said his
club will not buy any player who does not immediately add quality to
the team. Bayern munich is believed by outsiders as a team that takes
from its rivals to weaken them but according to Karl Rummenige, this
is not so as they will not buy players from Schalke or Dortmund only
to hurt them but will only buy players who can bring quality to the
team immediately. The coast is now clear for Arsenal to sign the
player as Wenger has already made summer plans to buy.
