A lot of people have been waiting for the day Arsenal will win a trophy and that day was yesterday. Finally after nine years, the FA Cup is Arsenal's and the trophy drought ends. Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain first said winning the FA Cup will start a new era at Arsenal. Ozil and Mertesacker felt the same way as well and now that the FA Cup is won, does it really mean the start of a new era? Yes it does. The only way from here on is up.
FA Cup win vindicates Wenger's principles as the players he has been nurturing for a long time has finally come of age and know how it feels to win trophies. This FA Cup win can be a springboard for future successes as the team will be ready next season for bigger challenges. This does not mean the club should relax on the transfer front, Ozil though may not have performed to expectation in his first season at the emirates but he certainly added to the squad. Players are been linked with Arsenal now. The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria and others are been monitored by Arsenal with the view of bringing them to the club. Any of these players can add more quality and depth to the squad. Also Olivier Giroud performed considerably well in his second season at the emirates and even had a hand in the third goal yesterday but the French international obviously needs help as He cannot do it all alone. The midfield and defence also needs reinforcement so the club can have quality in depth and be able to challenge for honours next season.
