Few days to the start of the World cup in Brazil. All attention has already turned to the 32 nations that will be fighting for the trophy in Brazil and except for few genuine transfer news, attention has shifted from the clubs.
Now, most clubs are planning to start their summer spending after the World cup but have highlighted the positions they would want to fill with new players and maybe they have also identified the players to fill the positions also. Arsene Wenger already said his transfer activities will begin after the World cup, but the question here now is Can Arsenal afford to wait till after World cup to begin its transfer business? Past experience in the transfer window shows Arsene Wenger always leaves it late to bring in new players by which time most of the good players would have been snapped up. Remember the time when Mikel Arteta and others were brought late to the club? Remember the time Arsenal signed Ozil late? Even though the signing of Mesut Ozil was very significant, it happened late and other players could not be signed up at that time. The point here is Arsenal always leaves it late and it does not always end well.
After the FA Cup triumph, a lot needs to be done on the transfer front and even if anything cannot be confirmed now, it would be better if there are plans in place so things can immediately run smoothly after the World Cup. Arsene Wenger should identify his transfer targets now and set plans in motion to capture the signatures after the World Cup or else it may be the same case where we always do panic buys again.
